TANZANIA CLASSIC EXCLUSIVE SAFARI

 

DAY 1: KILIMANJARO TO MOSHI

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Meet and greet by Ndoto Safari guide, then our driver will transfer you by road from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Kilimanjaro Wanders Hotel in Moshi approximately 90 minutes’ drive from the airport.

DAY 2: MOSHI - KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK 

This day after breakfast drive to the foot hills of the highest mountain in Africa(Mount Kilimanjaro) today is the day you will spend the whole day for excursions which are  Water falls, Coffee and Banana experience, Chaga museum and Hiding caves and there after drive to Kilimanjaro Resort and get some time to visit the bar for your nice child Kilimanjaro bear.

DAY 3: DAY HIKE MARANGU ROOT.

ALTITUDE GAIN:                     1860m to 2705m

DISTANCE (one way) is:        8 km.

HAIKING TIME:                       3 – 4 hours UP and 2 -3 hours down which can be 5 – 7 hours total

HABITAT:                                 Mountains Forest.  

To day you will be picked up in the morning from your hotel in Marangu mtoni and taken drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). The drive will take approximately 25 minutes. Once the necessary gate registration has been completed, your trek can begin and you will soon be hiking through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest.

Alongside the impressive vegetation, you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and various bird species. Our knowledgeable English-speaking guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and will explain the different species of plants and animals that you will see. You will also come across mountain climbers descending from the top, and perhaps some of them will tell you of their experiences and you can start to dream about a climb of your own!

After a 3-4-hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a well-earned rest and lunch. Your guide will then take you on a short hike (15 minutes walking distance) to the Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, you will return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your vehicle will be waiting for driving to Arusha. On your return journey you can enjoy the sunset and the day ‘s memories.

DAY 4: ARUSHA - TARANGIRE.
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. The driver will take you through the city of Arusha then out to Maasai land where you can see Maasai grazing cattle and goats. Once you arrive to Tarangire gate the armed ranger will be ready for you then you will start your nature walk from the park gate while working you will may see some of the big game like Elephants, Giraffes and also Zebras and many more while standing in your  own feet. Once you end your nature work your guide will pick you and drive you to your picnic site for lunch after a good lunch proceed and  enjoy the game drive through the park which covers an area of 2,850 km2 and famous for its large herd of elephants, some over 100 in number; and large baobab trees that dot the landscape as you head to your accommodation for a night under the clear and sparkling African night sky.

DAY 5: TARANGIRE - LAKE MANYARA

You will have an early breakfast then head out to Mto wa Mbu a village close to Lake Manyara National Park for village work were you will get a chance to work through the Banana plantations and learn more about our tribes in Tanzania which is about 120 all leaving together with no any misunderstandings, at the end of your nature work you will have your local lunch at one of the family leaving within the banana plantation and soon after you will put back in to your safari car things that you do not need for the hike up the walls of great African rift valley this hike will give you a chance to see lake Manyara and its surrounding  from above. During this 1 and half to2 hour hike you will be able to enjoy the beauty of this famous rift valley this hike will take through the dray acacia bushes   also and if you are lucky you will see some of the endemic species and a variety of birdlife and expect to see animals like dik-dik, and there after you will then drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: FULL DAY IN LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.

Breakfast at the lodge, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game viewing and lunch. Lake Manyara National Park has a wide variety of habitats attracting a host of different animals: monkeys leap between the trees of the ground water forest, on the slope of the escarpment elephants stand in the shade of the baobab. In the pools along the lakeshore, hippos wallow and in the acacia woodland lions rest in the trees. The birdlife is fascinating, with pelicans, storks, geese, herons and cormorants sharing the water with migrant flamingoes that turn the crystalline edges of the lake a bright pink.

DAY 7: FULL DAY NGORONGORO CRATER FOREST HIKE.

This day you will drive from your lodge to the foot hills of Ngorongoro high lands and Ndoto Safari naturalist who will guide you and armed  park rangers from Ngorongoro Conservation Area who will accompany you during  this exciting six to seven-hour wilderness walk that will takes you to awe-inspiring, untouched forests where you will encounter unique plant life, animals and rare birds and also you will discover a magnificent waterfall and incredible “elephant caves” created by elephants digging up the earth to ingest the vitamin and mineral-rich soil. You may see buffalo, bushbuck, waterbuck, and baboons, also attracted by the soil. Your hike will take you to the Ngorongoro Forest and ascend the slopes to the crater rim with magnificent views of the crater floor below at the end of the day.

DAY 8: KARATU - SERENGETI.

After early breakfast, collect picnic lunches and proceed to central Serengeti with en route game drive to central Serengeti. One of the world's last great wildlife refuges, the Serengeti, stretches between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Lake Victoria.  The name comes from the Maasai word siringet, meaning "endless plains". The Serengeti's 14,763 square kilometers contains about three million large animals, many of them taking part in seasonal migrations, unparalleled in nature.

Every year, triggered by the rains, 1.3 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles gather to undertake the long trek to new grazing lands. The migration of the herbivores roughly defines the boundaries of Serengeti National Park, which is the central zone of the Serengeti ecosystem, an area that also takes in Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Maswa Game Reserve in the west.

DAY 9: FULL DAY IN CENTRAL SERENGETI

A full day of game drive exploring the vast Serengeti and all that it has to offer; enjoying the different habitats found in the park full of different animals like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, impala, zebras, wildebeest, Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. Serengeti also prides itself on its birdlife, boasting a variety of bird species that decorate the park with their different colors and sounds. The sheer size of the park and its changing scenery make it a day worth remembering to any visitor to this iconic part of Tanzania.

DAY 10: SERENGETI, NGORONGORO - KARATU.

Have an early breakfast 6:00 or 6:30 am then depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full day crater tour. You will descend into the crater; a fantastic experience on its own with beautiful scenery and majestic game life. At a depth of 610 m and a floor area of 260 km2, the crater is named one of the natural wonders of Africa and on a clear day, you can see the whole crater wall from the bottom. Considered Mother Nature’s zoo, the crater boasts a variety of large animals, approximately 25,000 in number including the rare black rhino. Lunch is at a picnic site with a view of hippos lazing in the shallow waters of the lake, followed by another game drive en route to your lodge. On the way, you will have an opportunity to enjoying the landscape us you driving down to Karatu.

DAY 11: KARATU - ARUSHA.

Today you will have breakfast at your lodge and followed by transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar or back home it will depend on how the program is.
